Correct, unless you happen to use some other library in your stand-alone 
tool and that library happens to be GPL licensed. QPL would force you to 
release the whole product under QPL which the GPL component would not 
allow, making your project impossible.

(If the other library happens to be LGPL not GPL, and you can link with 
that library instead of incorporating it outright, then you should be fine.)
