I had a rough stab at it the other year for a very very early development
version of Halcyon, the renderer used in P2. Having P2 running with 'OSM
Mapnik' colours was quite fun.

Paul Hartmann is currently working on a Mapnik->MapCSS converter, I believe:

It'd be terrific to see this done.
