Dear Sir or Madam,

As part of my master's thesis at the Chair of Information Systems and
Value-Based Process Management at the University of Bayreuth, I am working
on the topic "The Impact of Standardization of Boundary Resources on the
Innovativeness of Digital Platforms". Part of my work deals with the
empirical analysis of OpenStreetMap and for this I need your expertise.

The basis for my work is relevant research literature on this topic. Based
on this, I compare the found results from research with the status quo in
practice. A special focus is on the identification of characteristics and
factors that influence the innovativeness of application programming
interfaces. The editing application programming interfaces of OpenStreetMap
will serve as an example. More precisely, it will be investigated whether
APIs are used for standardization. In addition, the effects and motivations
with regard to standardization and innovation of the individual versions
will be discussed. In the interview, the versions V0.3 to V0.6 will be
examined in more detail.

In order to gather actual insights and real-world experience, I am
conducting interviews with members of the OpenStreetMap open source
project. If you already have experience with OpenStreetMaps and the Editing
API, I would be very happy if you would share your expertise with me. The
duration of an interview is about 45 - 60 minutes.

Of course, you will also receive the results that emerge within the master
thesis and thus new insights for the adaptation of boundary resources such
as application programming interfaces.

For the further procedure I would be very pleased if you would contact me
by mail to discuss everything further and to fix a date. If you have any
questions, please feel free to contact me!
