I would just like to remind people that voting on tagging proposals has
little relevance in OpenStreetMap and is seen as a relatively
controversial aspect within the project.
(Usually) Everyone can use any tag they like to describe anything they
care about. There is no need for a formal approval and you can just
start using the tags straight away. OSM allows for any "special interest
group" to come in and map their needs and interests. Be it baby hatches
and child care, or be it the diameter and pressure of fire hydrants for
use in the fire services.
So don't let your self be discouraged, even if this or other proposals
do get "rejected" by a couple of people on the wiki!
That said, obviously there is an advantage to coordinate tagging and
discussing things on the tagging list or the wiki beforehand, as if e.g.
person A uses baby_hatch, person B uses baby_hatches, person C uses
baby_klappe and so on, then even if the data is available in the
database, it becomes rather difficult to use.
Usually the best way to then promote a tagging schema, once you have a
good and workable proposal, is to a) try and get it as presets into the
editors and b) get it visualized on the map.
The iD editor has a very nice search based tagging preset system. As
they are therefore not limited by screen real estate, my guess would be
they have a rather lenient policy on inclusion and it should be
relatively easy to get those tags included.
JOSM has the ability to define preset files which allows people to
relatively easily add presets for their interests. E.g. like the preset
file for playground equipment (
http://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Presets/Playground_Equipment )
Getting things included on the map is a little more tricky. For the main
map on osm.org, the style has been pretty much unmaintained for the last
year and so no changes have been made at all recently. However, you can
always just render your own map. E.g. a "map for child infrastructure" /
"map for parents".
