Hi all

We are trying to get a Nominatim installation working, but are not
succeeding.

We are using osm2pgsql version 0.80.0, postgres 8.4 and country specific
map file from geofabrik and following the instructions are the Nominatim
installation wiki.

During the installation, we always get the error

ERROR: type"planet_osm_ways" does not exist

when running cat gazetteer-functions.sql | psql gazetteer even though
the data generation includes the slim option as below

./osm2pgslq -lsc -O gazetteer -C 2000 -d gazetteer country.osm.bz2

Searching the lists indicates that this is not a common problem, so we
must be doing something wrong.
If we continue the installation (indexing and so on) ignoring the error,
the process completes but on reverse geocoding (using the web
application) we don't get accurate street level information on our
server, compared to when we use the
http://nominatim.openstreetmap.org/reverse link.

Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanks
