How can I get / read the elevation data? IMHO I need a call on my GHResponse

Does GraphHopper import the data from the PBF file? 

@Off-topic but included by the question: How can I get access on the OSM meta data e.g. sideways, building data. Does in GraphHopper an API call exists?
