[Gsoc-orga] A project idea

Greetings,

My name is Viet Nguyen,  project lead at OpenBeta.io, a nonprofit open 
source/open license rock climbing platform.

Coincidentally I was preparing to submit our organization to Google then 
I saw a similar email from Simon re GSoC.

We have a large dataset of rock climbing walls in the US (205K climbing 
routes) under CC0 license, and want to contribute to OSM where it makes 
sense.  One of project ideas I have is adding an interactive tool on our 
site to let users add/read cliffs with tag=climbing with OSM.

I think the benefits are mutual:  we can import more EU climbing areas 
into our database (we're currently lacking), and improve USA cliffs 
related to climbing activity in OSM which may be useful to the OSM 
community.

Do you think I can propose this project under OSM umbrella? [1]

There's a contingent of rock climbers who are also pursuing coding 
bootcamp.  I think they can be strong candidates for GSoC contributors 
due the intersection of interests.
