[Gsoc-orga] GSoC 2025 - Mentorship Inquiry for "Retrace Walked Path on OpenStreetMap"

I hope you are doing well. My name is *Navdeep Singh*, and I am a
final-year Computer Science student with a strong interest in *geospatial
technologies, mapping, and open-source development*. I am excited to
contribute to *OpenStreetMap (OSM)* through *Google Summer of Code 2025*,
specifically working on the *"Retrace Walked Path on OpenStreetMap"*
project.

I have experience in *JavaScript* and have built a *demo project* that
implements the core functionality of retracing a walked path using stored
GPS coordinates. This demo showcases how users can track and later navigate
back along their previous route, aligning with the proposed feature for
OSM. I have started exploring OSM’s codebase and would love to refine my
proposal while making my first contributions.

Could you please connect me with a mentor who can guide me on the project’s
scope, initial contributions, and best practices? I would also appreciate
any recommended resources or pointers to get started effectively.
