Hi Team,

I hope you are doing well. My name is Soham Dixit, and I am currently
studying in the final year of my Bachelor of Technology in Information
Technology at Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, India. I am excited to
apply for Google Summer of Code 2025 with OpenStreetMap, specifically for
the "Photos in Every Door" project.

I am currently working as a Software Engineer Intern at TomTom, where I am
closely working with OpenStreetMap data to improve the accuracy of routing
points in Orbis Maps. My work involves optimizing the routing point
algorithm by leveraging OSM data and GPS probe traces. Alongside this, I
have strong experience in Flutter and Dart, having used them extensively in
my projects. I have also worked with Google Maps SDK and the
OpenRouteService API to develop location-based full-stack mobile
applications.

I have been a winner of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) in 2024, 2023, and
2022, a prestigious national-level hackathon organized by the Government of
India, where I developed impactful solutions using  Flutter, Google Maps
SDK and other tech stacks. Additionally, I was one of the top 24 finalists
selected across India in the Singapore-India Hackathon 2023, a prestigious
international hackathon also organized by the Government of India and NTU
Singapore University, where I collaborated with NTU University students to
develop an innovative solution.

My motivation for applying to this project comes from my strong interest in
open-source mapping and geospatial technologies. Working with OpenStreetMap
at TomTom has given me a deeper appreciation for collaborative mapping
efforts and the challenges involved in improving map data. The idea of
enhancing the Every Door app by integrating photo notes and OpenStreetMap
object images excites me, as it directly contributes to making mapping more
accessible and efficient for contributors worldwide.

I am currently finalizing my proposal and plan to submit it within 2 days.
