The fastest way to start a project is to sign up for an OHM account<https://www.openhistoricalmap.org/user/new>, watch a how-to video<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=az4HPJztcW0>, ask for help on our #openhistoricalmap Slack<https://slack.openstreetmap.us/> or Discord channels, and maybe do a historic task  on TeachOSM<https://tasks.teachosm.org/contribute?difficulty=ALL&text=michigan>. We highly recommend taking a look at www.mapwarper.net,<http://www.mapwarper.net> too!

If you're already familiar with OpenStreetMap<https://www.openstreetmap.org>, you should be able to get moving pretty quickly.

Here's an example of some data that's been loaded for old Rio on OHM<https://www.openhistoricalmap.org/#map=14/-22.9023/-43.1940&layers=O>. It needs more work, so don't hesitate to start adding to it!

I'm new at OSM. My understanding about it is a work in progress.
I'm a Brazillian PhD student. I'm seeking for an online platform to use for participatory inventory on cultural references which are not listed but are important to local communities. In Brazil, this is a really important work 'cause our culture is a merge of many others, and IPHAN mostly list Portuguese influenced assets and others from rich people from the past (let's be honest about it :/).
So I wonder how to create a project in OHM about it. Could someone help me?
