[HOT] Advised computer requirements

Thanks allot.
I guess it would be useful to clarify exactly what the purpose is.
I'm a volunteer in Haiti with GrassRoots United (grassrootsunited.org). 
We are in the workings of establishing a computer lab at our resource 
center and in the beginning of how we want to define ourselves in terms 
of ICT.
I've been asked to supply the desired specs for machines that will be 
used in OSM work. We work to support COSMHA (Community OSM Haiti), our 
own mapping program, and OSM work in general.

The ubuntu is very good news as linux will be much easier to maintain 
for a computer lab.

I appreciate all of the help sincerely.
