I just typed out a long reply to your message but when I hit send my
email client crashed so I will just give a short summary again here.
I would recommend we voice chat on either Skype (my username is
andrewbuck40) or on a program called Mumble which is like skype but
tends to work better on low bandwidth internet connections. Mumble
also employs strong encryption which is better for protecting the
operational security of your ground teams, skype does have encryption
but Microsoft is known to have given the encryption keys to many world
governments and therefore we don't know who might be listening on that
medium. It would be fine to use skype for the initial discussion but
Mumble is a lot safer if we start discussing operational details.
Instructions for setting up mumble are at the link below.
I am recommending we have a voice discussion as my experience is that
when starting work with a group such as yours it often works much
better to get set up that way. Often people offer to help collect map
data and they have some procedure in mind but after the discussion we
find that there are much better ways for them to contribute which
yield more data but are less work for the field teams doing the
Please contact me whenever you find time to do so (I would expect the
discussion to take about an hour at the most). I am available on
either skype or mumble anytime during US daylight hours.
