Hey Maning,
I have a few ideas on the manner. First of all, I think that the agenda
(esp since it is only one day) depends on the goals of the group. There
are basics that should be covered, but then in the afternoon you can either
focus on better editing and tagging or good data collection in the field.
If the group wants to learn how to help with responses remotely then
obviously teaching them how to be good editors is very important. On the
other hand, if you are in the area you want to map then you should make
sure that they understand field and walking papers in depth and know how to
tag and use the presets well.
Mr. Jeff Haack worked on a nice guide for
teaching<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WCTonbvQC6YHCHZyYduRfR94i7Gp_ISFpivxuNMLO68/edit>and
atwo day agenda
<https://docs.google.com/a/hotosm.org/document/d/1awItV0STAgr18JJjel0vQd-MMDjsGPdIXZvxEKg8S_Q/edit>was
included. He is also a good source for agenda questions (word on the
street is that he has a lot of free time as well... mwhahaha)
NOTE: I am hesitate to share this because it will be converted to MarkDown
and put on Github in the next few weeks. You will be able to find and
contribute to it on learnosm.org. The beginner guide currently on
learnosm.org has been modified to accommodate for intermediate training.
The josm editing chapters were combined and an imagery offset chapter was
added. All of that can be found here in the google
drive<https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0BxL7KIe6wH_4ZVV5RUtXUjRsQ0U/edit>
.
Also, feel free to check out ideas from the mapping party
handout<https://docs.google.com/a/hotosm.org/document/d/1XeyVve6tZE_-IIe1jgtXMjNRWLRPUf5yPaX8_P1gFOQ/edit>.
It needs a little work, but that might be a good place to put one day
agendas.
As far as the Indonesian workshops go, normally the beginner workshops were
five days with a day and half devoted to mapping in the field. We also
taught three day workshops for other organizations. I can send you those
if you would like. The final versions are in Indonesian, but it is pretty
easy to get the jest.
Good luck!
Cheers,
Katrina E.
