Want to create a map to show off all of the great data that's been added to
OSM ?
Ever thought 'I could make better icon than what's on the main OSM website
' ?
Wished that your deep, arcane knowledge of Frontline SMS would enable you
to travel ?

Well, here are your chances !

HOT has released 2 Calls for Proposals on a HDM Icon Set and a Web Map
Rendering (which can be completed remotely) and a SMS/IT consultancy on the
ground in Haiti.

For some background:

As part of our CAP103 project in Northern Haiti, we're implementing the
development of two renderings (web and JOSM) for OSM data that will be
gathered in Northern Haiti.

The first part of this implementation, improving the HDM JOSM Preset -
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Humanitarian_OSM_Tags/HDM_preset which
addresses core data semantic needs existing in Haiti, as well as in
Developing Countries (DCs), and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) has been
completed internally in HOT.

The second part of this implementation is rendering OSM data (as cataloged
in the HDM Preset):

- within JOSM (which has been done by HOT internally, the HDM Styling for
JOSM)

- As A Tile rendering, designed in CartoCSS (used in Tilemill) of which we
are seeking a designer and have issued a CFP for this.

More details about this CFP at:
http://hot.openstreetmap.org/hdm_cartocss_style_call_for_proposals

Complimenting the rendering work, we have released a CFP for an icon set
that would be used in the HDM JOSM Rendering as well as the tile rendering.

A beta release of icons have been created within the HDM JOSM style -
https://github.com/hotosm/HDM-JOSM-style/

However, there are additional icons that need to be created and are looking
for someone to create those and where necessary, recontextualize the
existing icons for the JOSM and web renderings.

http://hot.openstreetmap.org/hdm_icons_set_call_for_proposals

Thirdly, we are seeking a consultant to help us here on the ground in
Northern Haiti to roll out a Frontline SMS implementation to coordinate
communication among local mappers.

More details on this position at:
http://hot.openstreetmap.org/itsms_consultant_in_haiti

Deadlines for all submissions are May 23rd.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact apply at hotosm.org

Will Skora
