Subject: International Services - Brown Bag Lunch & Learn - March 12

International Services is proud to present our March session of the Brown Bag Lunch & Learn series. The series is open to the public, but RSVPs are requested, so feel free to disseminate. This month's topic will focus on immigration and human rights. Please join us to learn about this topic from our guest speaker, Jordan T. Garcia.

“Immigration and Human Rights”

OVERVIEW

The debate over how to address individuals living in the United States without authorization continues. Are undocumented immigrants entitled to human rights? Have their rights been violated? What are the main issues that they face when coming to the United States? What is the situation in detention centers? These are just some of the questions that arise regarding the issue of immigration. This event seeks to bring a better understanding of the struggles that immigrants may encounter and how they are a vulnerable population when facing disasters and other emergencies.
