Hi! Pierre posted about the IEEE event previously but I wanted to provide a
wrap-up:
Samuel, Pierre and I presented for 2 hours at the IEEE (Engineering
organization) International Humanitarian Technology Conference in early
June.
The audience was a mix of engineers and humanitarians with a sub-set of
academics. We provided an overview of HOT (Heather), a use case of HOT in
activations (Pierre) and Demo and new tools (Samuel). Each of us took a
turn answering questions. We remained at the event to learn more about the
community and look for ways to collaborate for HOT. The organizing team
expressed their gratitude for the HOT participation and hope to collaborate
again in the future.
Some key lessons:
1. HOT should continue to work on partnership like this one. (I knew
folks from the organization who lobbied for our participation.)
2. Having a mix of organizer and activation/field skills helps a session
flow better.
