[HOT] Hurricane Patricia Update: October 25

Hi Mike,

The DigitalGlobe images you’re looking in that imagery TMs were taken before Patricia, not after. Because of the narrow extent of the disaster and the capable response of the Mexican government we decided not to prioritize obtaining and mapping post-disaster imagery. Our efforts are instead focused on mapping what was there before so that responders can utilize that data to assess damages afterwards for themselves.

Mapping post-disaster objects is always a heavy task with lots of potential for error from incomplete imagery. In this case the Mexican government can likely do a better job faster than we can, so we’re sticking to simpler tasks we can do well quickly.

Best,

Robert
