[HOT] [CrisisMappers] Research project on satellite imagery for crisis mapping

Patrick,

Quite a few of us spent three years mapping out the flows of imagery at Camp Roberts, both as we built the Imagery to the Crowd/MapGive process and the MapMill process with the Civil Air Patrol. Starting in Nov 2009, OpenAerialMap also surfaced the issue of needing a place to put all these pixels, including UAV imagery.

GFDRR also plays a key role here, both through Keiko's PDNA work and the use of GeoNodes to store geospatial data. NGA is a quiet but critical player in damage assessment.

About 20 of us held a side meeting at SatSummit last month to work out some current issues.

What is your audience and how will this new resource be used?

John
