[Imports] "readonly" tag for imported data (ask "simple" editors to not modify)?

This is scary I find myself in agreement with both you and Fredrik.
With the new licensing I really think OSM really becomes a place to manually
add content. That is its niche, the amateur social side of mapping if you
like.
CommonMap is the place for handling data imports, its what they specialise
in. Plus a few manually add points of interest like pubs and coffee shops
with Wi-Fi.
I think its time to bite the bullet and realise that unless OSM sorts itself
out and finds its niche it will just become another historical point of
interest in the development of using computers for mapping. Google has a
lot of brand presence and with the new Google whatever on the horizon if OSM
doesn't sort itself out very quickly then there won't be anything left.
I see no reason why OSM and CommonMap shouldn't use the same tool set and
breaking the map out in this way would save a lot of time.
