Yeah, hard to say I guess how often GNIS tags would get touched.  I
know if they had been on the revoke list though a while back I would
have gotten a lot of them as I was going through and systematically
turning nodes into areas for cemeteries in about 3 states in the US.
I ended up doing hundreds and when I used the 'replace geometry' tool
that checks the discard list when copying over the tags.

I would expect that this would be a fairly common thing for buildings,
cemeteries, dams, reservoirs, etc.  The other things in GNIS are
likely to be place names (towns, villages, etc), and these are likely
to get wikipedia tags added to them, thus bumping the version and
hitting the discard list then.

So all in all they might end up disappearing.  In any case, I think it
would be good to put them on the list and just see how they start to
drop off.  No need to rush a mass edit until we get some indication of
how long it will take them to disappear via the discard list.
