[Imports] Fwd: Import Plan for Buildings & Address in Washington, DC, USA

As part of the DC Addresses/ Buildings Project Import Plan,  today two test
areas were imported into OSM:

* 110010078082 bounded 58th St NE (on west), Eads  St NE (on north) , DC
boundary (east) and East Capitol St (on South) this is the very eastern
part of DC.


* 110010021023 bounded by Longfellow St NW (on North), 2nd St NW (on west),
 1st St NW and New Hampshire NW  (on east) and Gallatin st Nw (South).


After running the validation tool in JOSM very few errors were found. Many
of these errors were fixed. Others were ignored for various reasons (such
as being outside of DC, or JOSM would not allow a fix).


The two areas which were imported look solid. In these areas the map has
dramatically been improved as hundreds of buildings with addresses have
been added into OSM. The geometry of the import is of high quality. The
results can be viewed in the web based ID Editor environment.

This is an update on the plan to bulk import the remaining buildings /
addresses in Washington, DC (

Thanks again for all the previous community feedback.


The plan going forward:


 On 7/14/2014 import two test Census BlockGroups.


* 110010078082 bounded 58th St NE (on west), Eads  St NE (on north) , DC
boundary (east) and East Capitol St (on South) this is the very eastern
part of DC.


* 110010021023 bounded by Longfellow St NW (on North), 2nd St NW (on west),
 1st St NW and New Hampshire NW  (on east) and Gallatin st Nw (South).


These two initial Census BlockGroup import areas will be carefully
reviewed. If the imports work well then other areas are planned to start on
7/17/2014 .
