Just for the sake of clarity: Many communities have not reached a
consensus yet. Both methods have their advantages and disadvantages.

The paragraph above is not meant as criticism but to prevent other
people say in future that Nick's statement is true because nobody
disagreed with him on the mailing list at that time.

I think that import discussions should always happen before a "test
import" on the live database. You should not use a test import to create
facts and prevent a proper discussion.

Are there any plans when you will start the RFC of the proposal you
refer to?
