Hello imports team,

My name is Justus from Spatial Collective <http://spatialcollective.com/>.
For the past two years, we have been working with the Commission for Lands
and the State University of Zanzibar to digitize all of the buildings on
the Zanzibar Archipelago. We used the 7cm drone imagery provided to us by
our partners. We have been able to create the first official comprehensive
building dataset (+350,000 buildings) of Unguja Island that is currently
being utilized by the government for various initiatives, including
securing tenure. During this time, we have had very long discussions with
the Government regarding opening the data to OSM. We are happy to say that
after two years, the Commission for Lands approved the opening of the data
(building shapes) in OSM.

Therefore, I am writing to you to share our intent to upload all the
digitized buildings to OSM. So far, we have been able to achieve the
following:-

   1. We have created and shared our import plan through the Zanzibar
   building import
   <https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Zanzibar_Building_Import> page.
   2. We are in the process of obtaining the final permissions from the
Commision of Lands who are the official data owners. This includes official
import approval and licencing permission for ODbL compatibility.

As contributors, I want to share with you a sample of our buildings dataset
(in osm ready format) and links to the drone imagery (available on
OpenAerialMap <https://openaerialmap.org/>). Feedback on the quality of the
dataset is highly appreciated. Additionally any advice on dealing with such
a large undertaking is welcome.
