Summary:
Local and district governments allocate or change road names and addresses.
Updates are sent to LINZ which checks that it meets standards before adding it to the
national official address database.
Of course there may be mistakes or omissions in that database, but I expect that over time they
will be corrected.
The current rate of change in the database is (very approximately) 500 additions, 500 modifications, 100 deletions per week.
I'm not sure if we are still seeing some catch-up with historic data, or if this is just the regular churn...
