OK - just one thing in using it:

It would be very useful to do this if only a way is
selected, too. Then you could do...
  
  * use select mode
  * select way
  * use draw mode
  * click on node at end (selecting it) [currently ignored]
  * click elsewhere to extend way

rather than the current:

  * use select mode
  * select way
  * shift-click on end node
  * use draw mode
  * extend way

That shift-click is getting annoying ;-)
