Ah, that does it - nice idea but not very intuitive. The plus looks more 
like a cross. When I first saw it I thought it was a way to hide 
complexity and clicked it. After clicking some of the "plus-signs" I 
noticed that the command list contained several add node commands. At 
that point I quickly undid everything and categorized it as a bug. I did 
  not understand what it was supposed to do. Only after reading your 
post I now understand...
