[josm-dev] JOSM audio difficulty

I'm having difficulty getting the audio in the latest JOSM (574) to work.

I am using gpx and audio files that have been ok with previous versions.
I want to use no waypoints.
In the Audio Preferences menu:
Display live audio trace CHECKED
Label audio markers CHECKED
Create audio from named trackpoints UNCHECKED
Create non-audio markers when reading GPX CHECKED
Import audio uses specific waypoints CHECKED

The last needs to be checked to avoid an error message along the lines 
of "Nothing to associate audio with", although it is not what I want.

Right click on GPX and import audio. I get two audiomarkers at way 
points I have made.

But the main problem is that there is no orange play head displayed when 
the audio plays.
