[josm-dev] Code style

Hello,

while writing patches (user plaicy) I like to follow the existing code
style.  Should the code follow for example the style guide by Sun [1]?

I ask because changeset 1865 confuses me.  In line 218 (r1865)
in GeoImageLayer braces are removed and in 329 they are added [2].

PS: I only ask for patches not for rewriting the the whole code.
