Actually I still see no need to change that, especially as all proposed 
system require much more handwork to do a release. The current method is 
100% automatic.

For me it's ok that we have a working title 10.01 for release, but the 
final release itself again will be 1.5.30xx or short 30xx only as 
established already.

When we really start to do maintaining for tested versions (i.e. we 
switch to stable instead of tested) then a new version sheme will be 
required. Until then I see no need to change anything.
