I think it should be possible to provide a "file:///" link instead of 
http:-link. At least it is worth a try. Note that some tools use 
"file:/C:...", others use "file:///C:...". So you need to experiment a 
bit. Probably the \ must be expressed as /. See also Maps-page in wiki how 
the urls must look like.
