Editing the tag list directly actually is not the preferred way. The 
normal user should use the presets instead. I fear that direct inline 
editing will cause a lot of false edits caused by accidents. Otherwise 
that change would have come already a long time ago. We have many other 
places, where editing is possible directly in the displayed tables, but 
the right hand dialogs usually do not allow this.
