We already have this. It's degraded to INFO level, as it is disturbing.

We also have a common mistake checkfile, which contains misspelled words. 
Has not been upgraded for a long time.

I doubt this can be fixed at editor level without breaking the idea of 
OSM, but updating the words.cfg to catch most often current typos may 
improve situation a lot.
