Hi all,

Well a week has passed with no comment from OSMF. They were going
through elections recently, so that is understandable. So this email
is another attempt to ask: What is OSMF's attitude to hosting other
servers under different license regimes?

Or am I barking up the wrong tree? Who should I be asking, the server admins?

While I agree it would be nice to have them donate resources, I don't
quite see how USGS owes us anything. We can probably achieve this
without their help (but we can achieve more with their help, of
course). Also, if USGS controls the database server, it might not be a
good idea if we want to change the software or something - they would
then have a say in running the server and they might not have the same
goals as OSM.

Regards,

TimSC
