I'm in this mapping project for two reasons

1. Garmin wanted my first-born son as payment for data for use in a GPS. The
data is faulty. If I contribute corrections, they don't even offer me
cut-price data.

2. An Australian project with a combination of hand collected and government
data has stalled because one man has to do it all. He accepts new tracks but
we don't know when there are updates. Licensing is not free because the
government wants to resell my data to myself (Ordnance Survey style).

My first born son has left home, so I can't pay Garmin's price.
I want to contribute data and correct data.

I don't want PD for my data because then I can see the company like Garmin
freely using it to update their maps and still charging me for my data.

Liz
