And, while I have the text of BY-SA 2.0 generic open in front of me, I 
can't find any mention of the words "map", "cartography", "geodata" or 
"database" in the licence that OSM currently uses.

So clearly if Christine O'Donnell^D^D^Dyou are right, BY-SA can't be 
used for any of those things.
