Hi Andrzej,

Following your previous answer, let me try to clarify the use case.

USE CASE:

Suppose that a web site can find and show touristic pictures which have been taken in a selected area:
- Some users can upload pictures to the web server, indicating the address where each picture has been taken,
- Some OTHER users can ask the web site to find and show the pictures which have been taken in the neighborhood of a provided address.

Notice that the web site does not show to the OTHER users, the addresses of the pictures,
since the privacy of the users who have uploaded the pictures has to be protected.

PROBLEM:

According to the ODbL license, the derivative database containing the locations of the pictures has to be published.
This is a problem since the privacy of the users who have uploaded pictures is not protected anymore.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION:

The only possible solution seems to be the solution Frederik described in a previous answer:
Dummy locations could be added to the derivative database, in order to mask the locations of the pictures.

MAIN QUESTION:

Does the ODbL license allow to add dummy data into a derivative database
in order to mask the useful data of the derivative database ?

Otherwise, is there any other solution to protect the privacy ?

Thank you very much for your help.

Xavier
