[Merkaartor] 0.11 Windows: crash when opening saved scene

Thanks for your work. I tried to open the mdc on an Ubuntu Hardy VM with 
the Merkaartor version from the "Ubuntu repository" as described on your 
website, but it didn't even recognize mdc files and couldn't open them 
anyway.

So are those mdc files specific to windows?
