Which openSUSE version are you using?
I'm on a 11.0 X86_64 box with 
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Qt/ repositorie enabled. This 
gives me:

QMake version 2.01a
Using Qt version 4.4.3 in /usr/lib64

I can compile trunk and the 0.12-fixes branch with out any problems.
I remember that there were some problems with QWebkit in the original openSUSE 
11.0 version (Merkaartor 11.0 (installed from rpm) freezes by using Yahoo 
maps). May be you update your qt version to 4.4.3 and give it another try.
