[OSM-newbies] Problem creating way.

I'm probably just an idiot, and I'd love to RTFM, but I can't get to the
wiki pages this evening

Anyway, I'm pretty new, I'm trying to build a way out of a ~50 mile stretch
of interstate in JOSM. I get it all selected, create the way, it turns blue,
I add a couple tags, and as soon as I upload, the way disappears, goes back
to green (segments only)

The way is a large portion of I-76 through NE Ohio. This link will take you

Also, anyone who would like to give me a few tips on tagging, I would really
appreciate it.
