WAAS is a correction service that only applies to North America.  If
you use WAAS outside of the area that its intended for it may lower
the accuracy of the unit, becuase it will be applying corrections for
the wrong area.

EGNOS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egnos) is the EU version of WAAS -
so far as I know, if you enable WAAS on a Garmin unit in Europe, it
will use EGNOS - which will definitely enhance the accuracy of the
unit.

So in conclusion - use WAAS/EGNOS in Europe and America.
