[OSM-newbies] roads

Could someone direct me to or create a wiki page that explains how to make
various kinds of roads
and features in JOSM?

If a road allows traffic in both directions but doesn't have a stripe to
divide the lanes then do I put the two
ways on top of each other?

How do I join the ways at an intersection?

Here are the kinds of roads I went on today on my motor scooter here in
Korea.

Two lanes paved, parking on each side, a single solid yellow line, and
sidewalks.
Wide roads with no line but traffic allowed in each direction.
Narrow roads with barely enough space for cars going in opposite directions
to get by.
Single lane roads around construction or where half the road was washed away
by last years floods.
Paved tractor roads. About the width of a car. Traffic in both directions.
Passing in the occasional wide
area or where there is room to pull off into the dirt.
Unpaved tractor roads.
Two lanes in each direction separated by a guard rail.
Single lane ramps onto the four lane highway.
A highway overpass.
A trail barely wide enough for my scooter.
