[OSM-newbies] Request for help with osmarender on the desktop

I have tried right now rendering the data with firefox like it is described
on the wiki http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Osmarender/Howto, and I
have the same error. This is something that I have done earlier with older
version. If any one has more information please explain what is wrong.

But XMLstarlet is working for me, are you using windows or linux, what
errors do you have when using xmlstarlet.

If it is windows be sure that the path of standard.xml is correct

c:\xml\xml tr osmarender.xsl rules/standard.xml > map.svg

If this still doesn't work, you can download osmarender plugin for josm
http://josm.eigenheimstrasse.de/wiki/Plugins

Save it on josm plugin directory,
run josm,
activate the plugin,
Go to advanced preferences (the Einstein button)
click add and enter the values key : osmarender.firefox value : the
complete path to firefox executable
restart josm

you should have a new menu "View" , below it osmarender, it should render
the current view on firefox.

hope this helps.
