Just to be sure, you are aware that the user name and password for uploading 
data to OSM are not the same username and password for editing the wiki.

JOSM requires the password / username combination which will let you log in 
here:

http://www.openstreetmap.org/login.html

Check you can log in at the above URL, and then doubly check there are no 
typos in what you have entered into JOSM for the username & password.
