[OSM-newbies] josm download gives error(maybe a proxyserver wich causes trouble?)

  I've never done this, so I've no idea if this is actually the case,

  suggests you need to run (from the command line or a batch file, or
  similar):
  
java -Dhttp.proxyHost=192.168.1.1 -Dhttp.proxyPort=3128 -jar josm.jar

  with the IP and port of your proxy.
