[OSM-newbies] josm download gives error(maybe a proxyserver wich causes trouble?)

Hi,
I try to download some osm-data with JOSM. I work with windows xp here.
At home, everything goes very well. Here, on an other computer, after
choosing a small area and click "download from osm" JOSM says:
"contacting osm server" and then: "www.openstreetmap.org" and after that
nothing happens, and nothing is downloaded.

This happens every day, on every location. I am afraid a proxyserver causes
this trouble, but i cannot find proxyserversettings in JOSM.
How can i solve this problem
