[OSM-newbies] Making Garmin eTrex Vista responsive to a Linux system

I’ve tried to compound what I’ve said here in to some sort of guide to
getting the pesky Garmins working on awkward GNU/Linux distros[1].

It doesn’t really say that much over information found on the GPSBabel
site and elsewhere, and is incomplete.  I’m not entirely sure that the
udev rules are correct for Ubuntu (I haven’t tested them) for example,
and I’m not at all sure about the Fedora stuff.  It’s a wiki.
