[OSM-newbies] how can I take a piece of map, add my house and print it please

Brian, probably the simplest way to do this is to provide a pointer on the
map to your house. You can do this via your user page quite easily. Simply
log in at www.openstreetmap.org and then click on your username in the top
left of the screen and then click "My Settings". This will open the "User
Details" page. Make sure that you have the correct location of your house on
the little map. Once in the correct position click on the "Save Changes" and
then click the "View" tab. Finally click "home" in the top right of the
screen and your location will be shown with an arrow. Zoom in to the
required zoom level and do a print screen. You can then past into any other
program and annotate with more if you like.
