[OSM-newbies] Re; NAViGPS SD card (was Two Questions)

I have a NAViGPS GT-11 and it works OK with SanDisk SD cards. At the
moment I am using an old 256 MB card and that allows me to build up
logs for several outings (typically about 1 hour outings recorded at 1-
second intervals). Normally I convert the NMEA logs to GPX and upload
them on the day that the track is recorded. Seven days of logs are
only occupying 7.5 MB on the card at the moment.

My NAViGPS has inexplicably switched itself off a few times recently -
losing some 20 miles or so of tracks. I think this may be due to
vibration as my recumbent trike does not have suspension and the mount
for the device offers little cushioning. Now I switch the device off
manually after gathering a track for a particular part of town that I
am mapping in order to minimise any loss. This works quite well and I
simply end up with several logs files for a mapping jaunt. I have just
moved the mount to a new position and will see if that make the device
behave any better.
