I use BSGPSPDA (http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/BSGPSPDA) on
my Acer C530, and it works like a charm. You can set the recording
frequency (max: 1 Hz), it saves to GPX, you can select where to save
the tracks to, and it even downloads OSM map tiles to act as a
background (so you can see where roads have been mapped). Plus, it has
an option to keep the PDA out of standby while logging. The only thing
it doesn't do is to manually add waypoints or annotations (OK, it
*does*, but I have found the function to be very impractical), but
otherwise I have been very happy with it.
