[OSM-newbies] need an editing tool

Hello,

Is there an irregular polygon selection tool?  Not the rectangular one, an
irregular polygon selection tool.  Better yet, is there a tool I can select
a segment of a line?.  Like on a long curve road, I want to select just the
curved part of the road but not the straight part of the line.  The curve
section is long enough that it would be faster to click and drag a box but
it selects other nodes from different lines.  With an irregular polygon
selection, I wouldn't have this problem with selecting non-interested nodes.
